“Wow! What a great day at Mayfest. Thanks to all those that stopped by our tents. We entertained a lot of questions concerning our annual fundraiser – Timmy Ray’s 12thAnnual Oyster Roast, which is coming up the Saturday after Thanksgiving 11/30/19.
This year’s theme is “For A Reason!” Because we’re all about helping as many people in need as possible. There are a lot of folks that need our assistance and our goal is to be there for them and we need YOU to make that possible!

Our organization exists to make money to help people in need. We have zero overhead except for what this event cost us. Everyone associated with TR’s Cancer Fighters is a non-paid volunteer. That includes all board members and officers.
This event requires a lot of time and people. Our goal is to get as much “bang for the buck” as possible. With that in mind we are pursuing a different strategy for this year’s event. This year we are selling tables only. This decision is based upon the numbers from last year. 80% of our gross income came from table sales and sponsors, 12% came from t shirt sales and 8% came from public ticket sales. With last year’s sales of 53 tables along with our committed sponsors, donors and raffle ticket sales we only need to sell an additional 20 tables to match our 2018 gross sales. However, we want to help more people so to reach our projected 2019 budget we need to sell an additional 47 tables. Each table seats 8 people and cost $1000. That is $250 per couple. When you purchase a table or a portion of a table you will get a donor form that you can apply to your 2019 taxes. With advance notice and planning hopefully a lot of you will join us for our 2019 event. Table sales are beginning to pick up and its 6 months before the event! Please consider getting on board early.
We hope everyone will understand our goal and will work together with family and friends to purchase a table. We also understand the price difference and the fact some folks cannot make this sacrifice. Once again, we are about helping as many people in need as possible. There are a lot of folks that need assistance.
